American artist Max Hayslette considers himself a romantic artist - one who seeks to give his work a gentle and spiritual quality. His strongest attribute is his ability to see the abstract in his subject. He chooses the subject, studies it well, and then mentally dissembles, mixes and reassembles the parts into a new image with a new spirit of his own. The Verdon River starts in the French Alps and feeds into the Durance River just south of Manosque in Provence. This romantic landscape at Moustiers-Saint-Marie is quite captivating in the September moonlight.
