Company History Net Nanny Software International Inc. (NNSII), of Vancouver, B.C., and Bellevue, WA, originated Internet access control filtering in 1994. The Company's CEO designed the software when he saw the need to provide parents, teachers, librarians, office administrators and society in general the ability to implement Internet use policies for their end users. These policies are determined and set by the administrators, and the Net Nanny software is used to put the policies into action.
Though NNSII is best known as an Internet filtering Company, its products have always been about providing security. Whether it's about protecting user's access to the Internet, safeguarding personal information and financial data from being sent from a PC, or securing your desktop from unwanted or unauthorized tampering, the company has been developing security products since its inception.
Today, the company has engineered a software-only biometric solution for user authentication in modern computers. Our patented user authentication technology, BioPassword®, is designed to ensure the person who is accessing your resources is who they claim to be. BioPassword® layers a strong user authentication technology with a traditional authentication tool, the password, enabling you to achieve a balance between convenience and security.
BioPassword® v4.5 for enterprise network access control
BioPassword® 4.5 is a GINA replacement for Windows NT® Workstation and Windows® 2000 Professional desktops. (The GINA is the graphical user interface presented by Windows when a person starts or locks their workstation.) BioPassword® coexists with the standard authentication facilities provided by Microsoft Windows®, minimizing the learning curve for everyone who uses or manages the network. It reduces the risk of internal and external attacks on your network and the costs associated with stolen data, insurance and negative publicity.
BioPassword® SDK v1.3 for application logon protection
BioPassword® SDK 1.3 is used by application developers to secure individual applications they have written or integrated into the network. At this level, authorization is exposed on a per-application or per-device basis. The technology in our software development kit integrates seamlessly with the programmer's chosen methodology for authorization. You can secure individual applications using ActiveX controls for Internet-enabled and web-based applications. Our technology can also be used to integrate other authentication technologies into applications and networks, such as smart cards and tokens.
