Exp.: n/a - The Eurail Pass has become a symbol of the backpacking college student or 20-something explorer taking a break before starting a career. But, in reality, Eurail passes are available to people of all ages. Travelers under the age of 26 do receive discounts, but so do seniors over the age of 60, and groups of two or more. A variety of passes are available to fit the needs of every traveler, whether they are going to Europe for two weeks or two months. Country specific passes are also available.

World Cup 2006 Germany
This year's biggest global sporting event is the World Cup. Soccer fans from around the world will be heading to twelve "host cities" in Germany. These includes both major cities and small towns, scattered across the country. Rail Europe offers a perfect solution for U.S. and Canadian travelers heading to the matches — the German Rail Pass.
GERMAN RAIL PASS
It's going to be Europe's most popular event of the summer. The World Cup is coming to Germany beginning June 8th, and Rail Europe has the perfect travel pass.
With a German Rail Pass, Twin Pass (for two people) or Youth pass for those under 26, fans can easily get from Frankfurt to Stuttgart, Hamburg to Hannover. And all the other cities in between.
Some of the games are in smaller venues like Gelsenkirchen, college-town Kaiserslautern and Dortmund. Flying isn’t really option as it’s too expensive and time consuming. And driving? Well – the traffic getting to these games and then trying to find a parking spot – not the way most people would want to spend their trip. The easiest way to get from one city to another is on Germany’s extensive network of high-speed trains. It's a great way to meet fellow travelers on their way to the matches.

Germany's ICE Train, which stands for InterCity Express, can reach speeds of 205 MPH. ICE established the world speed record for conventional trains on May 1,1988. Travelers ride in comfort and can listen to audio entertainment through headphone jacks located at each seat. Mobile phone reception is provided onboard by special repeater carriages. Rail Europe Service
Service is extremely important to us, and unique technology has been developed by the Rail Europe Group in order to meet the growing demands of the travel community.
Euronet, our proprietary reservation system, offers an on-line link to the European railroads' seat inventory. Euronet is currently used in Rail Europe's three reservation centers (in Portland, OR, and Toronto, ON) in which hundreds of telephone sales representatives handle arrangements for travelers or travel agents. Moreover, 400 travel agency partner locations are directly connected to Euronet, which enables them to book and issue Train passes and tickets within their premises.
