A little history.
Hifi.com’s parent company, Cambridge SoundWorks started as an inventive speaker manufacturer over 13-years ago. The company then formed its catalog business, evolved into its chain of retail stores, and would become one of the first companies to sell consumer electronics on the Internet via the Hifi.com URL. (Historical note: Hifi.com sold its first subwoofer in 1994 via the Compuserve network. Amazon.com sold its first book online in July 1995.)
Today, Cambridge SoundWorks is a national, multi-channel distribution network, selling products online via Hifi.com, through its Catalog and Call Center operations and through the Cambridge SoundWorks retail chain. Cambridge SoundWorks branded speakers are also distributed globally via parent company Creative Technology Ltd.
Founded in 1988 by Emmy Award-winner and Audio Hall of Fame member, Henry Kloss (founder of AR, KLH and Advent), Kloss’ rich tradition of product innovation continues at Cambridge SoundWorks to this day.
