Julie Cohn
Julie Cohn is owner and creative director/designer of her own multi-disciplinary product design firm as well as Two Women Boxing, a firm she co-founded in 1983 to preserve the craft of fine bookbinding and box making.
Julie grew up in Oklahoma, and graduated with a BFA in painting and printmaking from the Kansas City Art Institute. She moved to Dallas in 1978 and attended graduate school at Southern Methodist University, earning her MFA in painting and printmaking.
Arnold Desmarais
Arnold Desmarais' paintings are narratives that tell stories of a coastal environment with a subtlety and understanding that only comes from a lifetime by the sea. Fond childhood memories of many idyllic summers on Block Island provided a treasure-trove of images for artistic seascapes which whisper of gentler times. In many of his seascapes, one can feel the power of the ocean. "I enjoy the power of the ocean, its ever changing aspects, and its elusiveness. It's hard to capture, but I always love a challenge. Art is all about challenging yourself all the time," reflects Desmarais.
Christopher Kufner
Christopher was attracted to art and the Impressionists at a very young age. Largely self-taught, he has enhanced his natural ability to paint by traveling throughout France, Italy and the United States visiting museums and studying the masters. He has had many one-man shows in the Midwest and New York. His work can be found in private collections in the United States, France, Ireland, South America, and Mexico.
What sets Christopher's art apart is his choice of hues. His landscapes with sumptuous rolling hills, cypress trees reaching for the sky, brilliant red tile rooftops, flaming poppies dancing in fields, and hay bales rolling forth from the earth, created with vibrant colors that seem both natural and magically attractive in his oil paintings.
"I feel that art should stand alone, without any statement. A strong painting needs no explanation to accompany it, however if I were to say anything about my paintings it would have to be that I try to capture the spirit of a place or a person without strict regard to form or color. I prefer to paint from life, frequently I will start a painting on location and finish it in the studio. I feel that it is not so much a question of painting from life, but a question of putting life into the paintings."
Christopher was born in Des Moines, and currently resides in Fairfield, Iowa, with his wife and family. He is currently working on a new series of Tuscan and French landscapes, based on his annual trips to Europe.
Dale Moses
Dale Moses, a Dallas artist, studied art at The University of Texas/Arlington, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Illustration in 1970. Since that time his focus has developed a broad spectrum of styles, including contemporary as well as impressionist style works. Moses lives and paints in Dallas, Texas, USA.
Galen Saturley
Born in Eugene Oregon and raised in Iowa, Galen Saturley began his career as a photographer at the age of twelve. Having been bit by the bug while capturing nature's wonders out in the Pacific northwest, he was hooked for life.
Travel inspired his choice of natural subjects, living in the plains of Iowa, the mountains of Colorado, and most currently New England where he finds new inspiration in the scenery of Cape Cod, the New Hampshire coast, and Boston.
